Bill Dodge Auto Group is looking for an experienced Accounting Clerk to become part of our accounting team. We seek someone with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for success in the automotive sector. The ideal candidate will be a team player eager to learn and develop. While experience in automotive accounting is preferred, we are open to training the right person. Candidates must have General Ledger Accounting experience, be organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong time management skills. The selected individual will assist with various accounting tasks and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
Compensation: $24.00-$26.00 based upon experience
Responsibilities
- Carry out accounting duties, including account reconciliation and journal entries
- Adapt to additional responsibilities such as inventory management, Accounts Payable, and Deal Processing
- Collaborate with team members and provide support to management
- Assist with daily bank reconciliation
- Conduct regular schedule reviews and clean-ups
- Utilize 10-key typing skills for data entry tasks
- Maintain various accounting schedules
- Break down sales deals
- Perform data entry and journal postings
- Stock new and used vehicles
- Post invoices to support Accounts Payable
- Process sales and vehicle postings
- Complete any other duties assigned by the manager
Experience
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- An Associate’s Degree or higher in Business Administration or Accounting is preferred
- Operational Excel experience is desirable
- Ability to work effectively in an office environment
- Capable of reading and understanding written instructions and information
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions and processes
- Previous accounting or finance experience is required
- Verifiable proficiency in General Ledger Accounting is essential
- Experience in Accounts Payable is preferred
- Prior automotive accounting experience is a plus
