Bill Dodge Auto Group is seeking an accomplished Automotive Service Director to lead and oversee our Service operations.
This is a senior leadership position for an experienced automotive fixed operations professional with a demonstrated track record of developing high-performing teams, driving financial and operational results, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
The Service Director will provide leadership to our Service Managers and Service teams, establish performance expectations, monitor results, develop talent, and work closely with dealership and executive leadership to continuously improve our Service operations.

Expected annual compensation: $175,000–$245,000
Compensation within the range will be based on experience, qualifications, and performance.
What You'll Do
- Lead, coach, motivate, and develop Service Managers across the organization.
- Establish clear performance expectations and hold Service leadership accountable for operational, financial, customer satisfaction, and personnel results.
- Partner with Service Managers on recruiting, hiring, training, developing, and retaining high-performing Service team members.
- Monitor Service Department performance using financial reports, operational metrics, tracking systems, customer feedback, and other key performance indicators.
- Work with leadership to establish monthly and annual forecasts and goals for financial performance, staffing, productivity, and personnel performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve departmental performance and work with Service Managers to develop and execute action plans.
- Ensure customers receive timely and accurate communication regarding repairs, pricing, and completion expectations.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction and assist with escalated customer concerns when necessary.
- Partner with our Training Department to ensure Service employees receive appropriate dealership and manufacturer training.
- Ensure adequate staffing and department coverage to support operational and training requirements.
- Maintain high standards for shop cleanliness, organization, safety, and equipment.
- Oversee the condition and maintenance of Service Department equipment and authorize repairs or replacement when appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, hazardous waste, Right-to-Know, and hazardous-material requirements.
- Work collaboratively with Service Managers, General Managers, and other members of leadership to continuously improve the customer and employee experience.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will be an established automotive fixed operations leader who understands how to successfully manage people, processes, performance, and profitability.
Qualified candidates should possess:
- Significant automotive Service Department or fixed operations leadership experience.
- A demonstrated record of successfully leading high-performing automotive Service operations.
- Previous experience managing and developing Service Managers and other automotive leaders.
- Strong understanding of dealership Service Department financials, productivity, labor performance, customer satisfaction, and operational KPIs.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze performance data and turn that information into effective action plans.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and employee-development skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to effectively manage difficult or sensitive customer and employee situations.
- A leadership style centered on accountability, teamwork, consistency, and continuous improvement.
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel between dealership locations as necessary.
